The 15-year-old's achievement came as hosts America locked out the podium with Maddie Mastro second on 92.00 and Kelly Clark third on 89.25 points.
Clark became the first woman to land a 1080 in 2011 but she could do nothing about young pretender Kim who had already wrapped up victory ahead of her final run.
But she saved the best until last as she cemented her win with a 'perfect' run which scored 100 from the judges.
Meanwhile in the men's event it was another American success story as Matthew Ladley racked up 95.50 points to take victory.
Second went to Japan's Ryo Aono on 92.00 with Naito Ando third on 90.50.
Aono leads the World Cup standings on 2,250 points while Clark tops the women's rankings on 2,000, 200 ahead of Kim.
