Dina Asher-Smith sent a warning to her Olympic rivals by winning the women's 200m title at the UK Athletics Championships on Sunday.
The British sprint star, who crossed the line in 22.18 seconds, set a championship record as she beat Daryll Neita in Manchester.
While 28-year-old Asher-Smith was faster over 200m, 27-year-old Neita won the 100m title on Saturday evening.
Josh Kerr suffered a frustrating 800m, finishing seventh after colliding with Ethan Giles. Kerr had taken the lead towards the end of the first lap before Giles and the young duo of Ben Pattison and Max Burgin overtook him.
As Kerr tried to glide past Giles on the outside, the pair collided and both fell. An embrace between the two at the finish line thankfully indicated there were no hard feelings.
Kerr, who is the 1500m world champion, has already qualified for Paris on account of his World Championships gold last year. The Scot will continue his rivalry with Olympic 1500m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the Games.
Pattison, who revealed he had missed his grandmother’s funeral in order to train for the race, took his first British title with the win and ensured his Olympic qualification.
“I can’t believe it really,” the 22-year-old said. ”Training’s been going really well, I’m not sure I’ve shown that in races yet.
"I think fourth is the best I’ve come so far so to come and win my first British title going into the Olympics, I can’t ask for any more.
“That’s just the first step on the ladder, I’m here to win a medal at the Olympics. In my head I was always on that team.
“I missed my grandma’s funeral on Monday to prepare for this race. I had that in my head at the start line and no one was going to beat me.”
The women's 800m saw 17-year-old Phoebe Gill upstage the competition in the absence of Keely Hodgkinson.
Hodgkinson, who has already assured of her place in the 800m in France, decided to test herself in the 400m.
Without her in the 800m, it seemed destined that Jemma Reekie would take the win but the rising star Gill shocked her to take the win and book her ticket to Paris.
