Rising star Cameron Brink has torn the ACL in her left knee according to the Los Angeles Sparks, with the team confirming the nature of the injury a day after Brink limped off midway through a game against Connecticut Sun. It's a bitter blow for the player, who had already been confirmed in Team USA's line up for the Paris Olympics.

Cameron Brink’s Olympics participation is over after the star suffered a torn ACL on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Sparks were taking on Connecticut Sun, with Brink hobbling off in the first quarter.
The American star had been named on the 3x3 women’s team for the Paris Olympics, which get under way next month.
The Sparks confirmed the nature of her injury on social media but didn’t give any information about a potential timeline for her return.
But with Paris now just over five weeks’ away, Brink’s Olympic dream looks unlikely to materialise, with Brink admitting the news is "hard to fathom".
The Sparks said they would release further information in due course, but Brink herself took to social media to give her fans an insight into how she is feeling after such a huge setback so early in her career.
"You never think it will happen to you. And despite all the hard work sometimes it does. This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger," she wrote.
"I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life – I’m not defined by basketball, but this is something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it. It’s not goodbye basketball it’s just a see you later. I’m always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers."
Brink sustained the injury during Tuesday’s match when she appeared to slip, and had to be helped from the court.
She attempted to limp to the locker room, but couldn’t make it and had to be carried instead – immediately indicating the serious nature of the injury.
The Sparks wound up losing the game 79-70, but are back in action later this week against the Liberty.
It’s a big blow for the 22-year-old in her rookie season, with the Olympics set to be a highlight along with being the No. 2 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.
She had started every game this season, averaging 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, according to ESPN.
