Terence Crawford took his record to a perfect 40-0 with a demolition of the previously undefeated Errol Spence Jr. in Las Vegas. The ninth-round stoppage saw Crawford unify the welterweight division. A rematch clause was in the contract and Spence seems keen to take it up, but his preference is for it to be at an increased weight. Crawford is open to the prospect of a fight at 154lbs.

No Filter Fight Week: Spence vs Crawford

After his dominant win over Errol Spence Jr. that saw him unify the welterweight division, Terence Crawford has said he would consider stepping up in weight for a rematch.
While not using weight as an excuse, Spence Jr. said afterwards that he would prefer to take up his rematch clause at 154lbs.
Crawford sent Spence Jr. to the canvas on three occasions in Las Vegas as the latter struggled to find any sort of joy against his opponent's devastating counter-punching.
“We got to do it again,” Spence Jr. said. “I’m going to be a lot better. It’ll be a lot closer. It’ll probably be in December and the end of the year. I say we go to do it again.
“Hopefully, it will happen at 154.”
Crawford’s ninth-round stoppage of Spence Jr. saw him become the first undisputed four-belt world champion in welterweight history.
With nothing more to achieve at welterweight, Crawford left the door open for a step-up to light middleweight.
“It [a rematch] definitely doesn’t have to be at 147,” Crawford said. “I’m in the hurt business.
“147lbs was hard for me too. I was already talking about moving up.
"154 wouldn’t be out of the reach of anything.”
Crawford is viewed by many in boxing as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport.
If he was not there already, victory over the previously undefeated Spence Jr. moved him into the conversation for being the greatest to lace on a pair of gloves.
“I’m up there,” Crawford said. “I always want to pay homage to the fighters that came before me.
"It isn’t my job to put me where I want to be, it’s your job to put me where I belong.”

Asked if he was the current pound-for-pound No. 1, Crawford said: “Without a doubt. I get to say I told you so.
“Each and every time I step up, I prove you wrong.
“It’s the Terence Crawford era.”
