'Keep your arms in!' - Rider collides with spectator filming race on phone

There was a scary moment at the Tour de France on Sunday when a rider smashed into a spectator's arm.
The peloton were passing a group of roadside fans during Stage 2's run from Cesenatico to Bologna when a rider from EF Education-EasyPost collided with an onlooker, who was filming the action on their phone.
The rider managed to stay upright despite the hefty whack, but it naturally brought memories flooding back about the infamous 'Opi-Omi' incident, which saw a fan wipe out the entire peloton with a sign at the 2021 Tour de France.
"Spectators, keep your arms in!" said Robbie McEwen on Eurosport commentary.
"And now wandering into the peloton...
"That could have been an absolute disaster. That was a pretty heavy impact. Luckily it ended up being on the shoulder of that rider, and not on the arm."
After a quiet opening day for the general classification favourites, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) is expected to take the fight to Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) on Sunday's second outing in Italy.
