Micoud hails Bundesliga

“I did not have a lot of space (in Germany) but I had many more offensive options withinin the team” Micoud told the Bordeaux's official website. “The state of mind of the team was basically based on the offensive aspect.

“It suited me more."

Micoud returned to former employers Bordeaux after his spells in Germany and Italy and while he is settled back home - winning the Coupe de la Ligue last week and pushing for European qualification - he does feel the French league is more conservative:

“The French league is a much more defensive competition," he continued. “In Germany, the teams play to score goals.”
