Real went 2-0 down in the first half and the Coach told a flash post-match interview that the tie isn’t over with Santiago Bernabeu next week.
“If we don’t have intensity, what happened happens. But I’m very proud of the team,” he said, AS reports.
Zidane had warned about dropping off after beating Barcelona at the weekend, but he hasn't written off his side's chances.
“We have to opportunity to turn this around in the return leg.
“Wolfsburg really didn’t do a lot but this happens in football sometimes. We lacked forcefulness. Now we have to think about the next League match and we can turn it around in the return leg. It can happen that you have a bad night, but we can change it. It wasn’t a lack of confidence. It was a difficult game. When they scored it’s true it could be through a lack of concentration. We can’t always be successful.
“The fans are always behind us. We have 90 minutes or more and we want to go forward. We must be united and keep doing what we’re doing.”
