Daniele De Rossi has signed a contract to stay as Roma manager until 2027 and continue his two-decade-long love affair with the Serie A giants. The former Italy midfielder, who won the World Cup in 2006, replaced Jose Mourinho as manager in the Italian capital in January 2024. He turned Roma's season around, helping them to the semi-finals of last season's UEFA Europa League.

Daniele De Rossi has signed a new contract to stay on as manager of Roma until 2027.
The club legend replaced Jose Mourinho in January 2024 and will now stay in the Italian capital for another three years after helping to turn their season around.
He took the club to the semi-finals of last season's UEFA Europa League and to a sixth-place finish in the league.
De Rossi's love affair with the Serie A side stretches all the way back to 2000 and saw the midfielder make 616 appearances for the club as a player.
The former Italy international oversaw 26 games as Roma boss last term, winning 14, drawing six and losing six.
Roma confirmed that De Rossi would remain in the Italian capital back in April.
Owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin were quick to praise De Rossi's impact at the club since taking over from Mourinho.
"After meeting with Daniele De Rossi we are delighted to announce he will continue as head coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future," said a club statement.
"Daniele leads with respect and courage, while his strength and deep-rooted belief in the club are truly aligned with Roma's values, city and unparalleled fans."
