England defender Lucy Bronze is leaving Barcelona, with her contract expiring at the end of the month. The European Championship winner leaves after two successful seasons in Catalonia, winning both the Liga F title and the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The 32-year-old will be a free agent this summer, with English, French and US clubs likely to be competing for her signature.

Lucy Bronze will leave Barcelona when her contract expires at the end of the month, making the England defender a free agent this summer.
The European Championship winner brings to an end two successful seasons at the Catalan club, having won the UEFA Women’s Champions League and Liga F titles in both of her campaigns.
Clubs across England, France, Germany and the USA are likely to compete for the 32-year-old’s signature, having been a serial winner at most clubs she has played at.
Bronze is a five-time Women's Champions League winner with Barcelona and Lyon, while she has also won the Women’s Super League three times across spells with Liverpool and Manchester City. She claimed her fifth European club title in May's 2-0 win over Lyon in the final, finishing the campaign with a quadruple for Barca.
The England international, who has also represented Team GB at the Olympics, played 70 games for Barca, scoring five goals. She also won the Copa de la Reina and two Spanish Super Cups during her time at the club.
Bronze has won almost everything in the game, apart from the World Cup, having been part of the England side which lost 1-0 to Spain in last year’s final.
She has moved regularly during her career, but seemed to hint earlier this year that her preference was to remain at Barcelona.
“The club loves having me here and I love playing with the girls and the players we have,” she told Revelo in January.
“I don't know what I want to do in the future, but Barcelona is definitely a team I would love to stay with, and I know the staff would also love for me to stay. So, we'll see.”
Bronze has never played in the USA’s NWSL and could be a target for several franchises over the coming months.
She is likely to be involved for England in their upcoming Women’s Euro 2025 qualifiers at home to the Republic of Ireland (July 12) and away to Sweden (July 16).
