Midfielder Claude Makelele has been included in the starting XI for France's Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia on Saturday. The Chelsea player's inclusion in Raymond Domenech's squad had sparked a war of words between the national coach and Chelsea boss
Makelele is set to partner Patrick Vieira in les Bleus' midfield after the player was brought out of retirement, seemingly against his will.
He had announced his retirement after appearing in Fance's ill-fated World Cup final, but was included nonetheless in Domenech's squad for this weekend and next week's Euro 2008 qualifiers.
Mourinho accused Domenech of treating his player like "a slave", but Domenech insisted he was entitled to select Makelele under FIFA rules.
The player himself has since expressed that he still considers playing for his country an honour and that he will "do everything I can so that we win our next two matches".
Team: 23-Gregory Coupet; 3-Eric Abidal, 5-William Gallas, 15-Lilian Thuram, 19-Willy Sagnol; 6-Claude Makelele, 4-Patrick Vieira (cap.) 7-Florent Malouda, 22-Franck Ribery; 12-Thierry Henry, 14-Louis Saha.
