Atletico with a decent spell of possession, but the Valencia wide men are closing down danger-man Diego...

It was a poor first touch from Canales that took the ball away from Juanfran, ironically - but he definitely caught him! From what I've seen of Canales he is an honest one though, hence his lack of appeal.

Jonas on the run, he thinks he's been caught but the ref waves play-on and the chance has gone. Now Canales gets in down the left, into the box and Juanfran slides in but no penalty! Seemed to catch the man and not the ball!

A couple of attacks exchanged but both keepers are helped by their defences to claim.

Great run by Diego down the right but he overhits the cross out for a throw on the left.

Good pace from Alba to keep the ball in down the left, nice cut-back too but Albelda and Canales get in each other's way.

Filipe's arm catches Soldado, barely, and the assistant ignores it with Soldado moaning. He held his arm out while protecting the ball.

Canales curls it in and Atletico fail to clear, but Courtois claims despite a shove from Rami, who is penalised.

Diego with a weak low shot well wide after good play from Tiago - he had Falcao with him, should have passed. Now Godin is a bit late on Soldado, who makes the most of it with the ball long gone. Canales to take.

Another poor free-kick, this time from Atletico as Diego swings it out for a goal kick near the corner flag.

Tiago with a trip on Jonas but Parejo wastes the free-kick, sending it long and out of play.

Suarez catches Canales, leaving the Spanish youngster in a heap. No card, free-kick.

Great run from Diego inside from the left, Juanfran getting forward on the right but Alba disposses him.

Los Colchoneros have never won an away game against a fellow Spanish side in Europe (P4 D1 L3). Valencia, on the other hand, are unbeaten in four previous European home games against Spanish sides (W3 D1).

FACT: Radamel Falcao has scored 27 goals in 27 matches in the Europa League. The Colombian striker has scored in each of his last four appearances in the competition, netting five goals in total. For Valencia, Roberto Soldado has hit seven in Europe this season, in addition to six last year. Atletico are top scorers in the competition this season, with 29 goals.

FACT: Atletico are on a run of 10 straight wins in the Europa League. With their victory over Valencia in the first-leg, the Rojiblancos became the first side in the history of the competition to win 10 in a row in the UEFA Cup/Europa League.
