Valencia make only one change from the 4-0 win over Real Betis at the weekend - keeper Diego Alves replaces Vicente Guaita, as has been the custom in the Cups all season. So that means quartet Tino Costa, Jeremy Mathieu, Aritz Aduriz and Pablo Hernandez all miss out, despite returning from suspension. Ever Banega is still injured.

Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid): "The 4-2 win is not decisive, but it's a result that we all would have taken beforehand. We will go to Valencia knowing it be tough, especially in a hostile atmosphere. We just need more of the same. Obviously this is an important moment for the club, the players and the fans and hopefully we can repeat the same kind of performances we have produced in our last few games."

Unai Emery (Valencia): "Tomorrow is a really important game, probably our most important of the year, and we have to take that into consideration. Both teams are quite similar but, as it stands, the situation favours Atletico. We are at a disadvantage from the first leg but we are at home and we have to show great spirit, great desire, to turn this around."
