First shot at goal for Spurs - if 'at goal' isn't too loose a term, as Paulinho fires one well wide from about 25 yards.

Spurs try to create something down the right, but Naughton's pass skews out of play.
4'
Matheus and Giuliano exchange passes neatly and the latter is almost through, but Naughton does well to get back and clear.

Dawson tries one of his trademark crossfield passes, and as about 50% of those balls tend to do, it goes over Rose on the flank.

Dnipro have had the ball for most of the early exchanges, but nothing serious has been created thus far. Matheus tries a through-ball that is blocked by Vertonghen.

And we're off, Spurs getting us underway.

The teams are on their way out, with the Spurs players clad in some very natty tracksuit tops.
17:48
Of course there was some doubt about whether this game would go ahead given the trouble in Kiev, but go ahead it does, and there will be a minute's silence before the game for those that have died.
17:45
According UEFA.com Dnipro are tonight looking to win their first springtime European game. So now you know.
17:40
Dnipro are of course managed by Juande Ramos, whose term at Spurs came to a rather ignominious end back in 2008. Not that he holds that against them, of course. "Of course I would shake hands - not only with him, but I have good relations with all of the managerial staff of Tottenham," he said when asked about Daniel Levy.

Here's Tim Sherwood to explain the omissions from his team: "The players we have left at home are the players who are injured and would not be fit to play in the team. We hope they will be fit for Sunday (against Norwich). We will probably have a minimum of eight internationals in the team, six of which you will probably see at the World Cup. It is the only cup competition we are left in and we have enough players in our squad to compete in both competitions and that is what we intend to do."
17:26
So Tim Sherwood names a pretty strong starting XI, although the liks of Emmanuel Adebayor, Aaron Lennon and Christian Eriksen have been given a rest. It will be interesting if the bench is required though, given the number of youngsters there.
