NEAT BALL OVER THE TOP
... from Gilmour, as Dykes gets on his bike and looks to hare after it. Peacock-Farrell is alert and rushes out to smother the striker, who is wrestling with two Northern Irish bodies already.

POSSESSION IS ALL WELL AND GOOD
... but Scotland aren't any nearer an opening goal yet. They're knocking it around neatly, but in front of the staunch Northern Ireland defensive block. There needs to be a bit more impetus about the home side, who are being egged on by the Hampden faithful.

80% POSSESSION
... for Scotland? Yep, you read that correctly. It's been all about the hosts so far. However, Bailey Peacock-Farrell hasn't had anything to do as of yet.

The flag is up against Lyndon Dykes.

CORNER, SCOTLAND
The second phase of the attack earns the hosts a first corner of the game as McGinn delivers a lovely inswinger that is scrambled behind at the far post by Hume. Ballard clears the corner, but Scotland come again.

BLASTED INTO THE WALL
... by McTominay, and again, twice more, by a combination of the Manchester United midfielder and Ryan Christie.

FREE KICK, SCOTLAND
Brodie Spencer loses the ball and then wins it back, and looks for Jamie Reid to hold the ball up and get the visitors up the pitch from their rigid shape. He can't do so, and Scotland maraud forward through McTominay who drives towards the box with menace, and is chopped down just outside the D. Chance here.

DEFENSIVE MENTALITY
... from the Northern Irish, with the Scots firmly in control of the early exchanges, getting on the ball and dominating possession early.

SHANKED WIDE
Gilmour wins the ball and looks for Christie ahead of him. The Bournemouth attacking midfielder drives and strikes, but it's wide of the target.

TACTICAL OBSERVATIONS
McGinn and Christie are buzzing in and around Lyndon Dykes in a pair either side of the Scottish striker. As for the visitors, it's a 5-4-1, with Brodie Spencer in fact as the left wing-back, and Hume out on the right, with Bradley right of midfield.

QUARTER OF AN HOUR TO KICK OFF
Here are the two teams once more for those that missed them:
Scotland: Gunn, Hendry, Cooper, Tierney, Patterson, Gilmour, McTominay, Robertson, McGinn, Christie, Dykes.
Northern Ireland: P-Farrell, Ballard, Toal, McNair, Spencer, McCann, Charles, Hume, Bradley, Reid, Price.

NORTHERN IRELAND TEAM ANALYSIS
As for O'Neill's visitors, they're in what seems to be a 3-5-2, but could also transition into a 4-2-3-1.
What we do know is that Bailey Peacock-Farrell is between the sticks, with Dan Ballard and Eoin Toal as the definite centre-backs.
Paddy McNair could well be the auxiliary third central defender, although he could also be playing in midfield alongside Shea Charles in a double pivot.
Brodie Spencer is most likely at right wing-back, although could be shifted into the back three with McNair moving forwards to accommodate Liverpool's Conor Bradley. However, if the 4-2-3-1 is in play, Bradley could be moved into a more advanced right-wing berth with McNair in midfield.
That leaves Trai Hume, Ballard's Sunderland team-mate, on the left side of defence, with Isaac Price ahead of him either on the left side of the strikeforce or on the left of the attacking midfield trident.
Ali McCann will then be a shuttler in the midfield three or a more lively number 10, and Jamie Reid, the Stevenage striker, will lead the line.
19:20
SCOTLAND TEAM ANALYSIS
It's a 3-4-2-1 for the home side tonight, with Angus Gunn between the sticks.
Jack Hendry, Liam Cooper, and Kieran Tierney are the back three, with Nathan Patterson and Andy Robertson the two wing-backs.
Billy Gilmour is the deep-lying orchestrator with goal threat Scott McTominay next to him as the box-to-box shuttler, and John McGinn and Ryan Christie are the free-roaming 10s behind the lone striker Lyndon Dykes, who will look to pin the centre-backs and allow McGinn and Christie to run off him.
