FIVE-STAR SPAIN COAST TO VICTORY
On-fire Spain hit back from conceding a shock opener to complete a 5-1 friendly rout of an outclassed Northern Ireland side in their final Euro 2024 warm-up match in Palma.
There were only 66 seconds on the clock when Daniel Ballard rose to loop a header into the net to stun a sweltering Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, but Luis de la Fuente's fast-moving side recovered quickly from shipping the first goal as Pedri equalised on 12 minutes with a lovely long-range strike. AND THAT IS YOUR LOT FOR THE EVENING!
A 5-1 win for rampant Spain, who head for Germany and their Group B opener against Croatia on Saturday in Berlin at Euro 2024 in fine fettle. That should be a thrilling contest.

TWO MINUTES ADDED
Northern Ireland might be tempted to head for their nearest ice cold bath in Palma. Wouldn't be the worst idea after this run-out.

HEADING FOR THE FINAL FEW MINUTES
Will there be added time in this contest? Northern Ireland won't complain if he cuts this short. Nothing else to see here apart from perhaps a sixth goal for Spain.

NORTHERN IRELAND TRYING TO PLUG HOLES
Which is easier said than done on such a hot night against an opponent who are completely in control of the football. Technique of the home side has been exceptional in forcing Northern Ireland to cover so much ground.

VISITING FANS MAKE THEMSELVES HEARD
Some real vocal support from the visiting fans, many of who are probably enjoying some holiday time in Mallorca while attending this match. There is always a refreshment in Spain.

LONG OLD NIGHT FOR THE WHITE SHIRTS
They've not raised the white flag, but they didn't have to. Spain were out of sight in this friendly long ago. The match officials could do Northern Ireland a favour by not adding on any time.

GOLDEN CHANCE OF A SIXTH
But Joselu blazes the finish over the bar from the Merino pass when a sixth goal seemed certain for the Spanish.

MORE CHANGES FROM MICHAEL O'NEILL
Not sure what managers learn from such nights that we didn't know before. Brodie Spencer takes over from Trai Hume for Northern Ireland.

CHANCE OF A SECOND FOR NORTHERN IRELAND
Despite being outclassed, the visitors have enjoyed a few moments going forward as Simon is forced to make a decent stop to keep out the shot by Price from the Taylor set-up pass.

A STANDING OVATION FOR YAMAL
The crowd are thrilled with his contribution tonight as he makes way for Joselu. Warming up nicely for his trip to Germany.

YAMAL SHOWING HIS CLASS
Superb touch to take the ball away from Lewis on the run, and that brings gasps of excitement from the home fans, who loved that piece of skill. Looks completely at one with the football.

A LONG TIME AGO NOW
Since Dan Ballard headed Northern Ireland in front in Palma. In fact, almost feels like a different match such has been the home team's dominance.

ANOTHER WATER BREAK FOR THE PLAYERS
It has been a hot night for Northern Ireland in more ways than one as they slurp some more water heading for the final 25 minutes of what is a filleting more than a friendly.

GOAL! (OYARZABAL) SPAIN 5-1 NORTHERN IRELAND
Oyarzabal punishes some more bad defending by the visitors as he knocks the ball into the net from the Yamal cutback. Poor defending really in failing to clear and it is 5-1 to Spain.

SPAIN REALLY SLOWING DOWN THE TEMPO
Such a hot night in Palma and they won't be wanting to take any risks as they continue to work space in the final third.
