Vicente back for Valencia

"It's a pity it couldn't have happened a month earlier but he is in the squad with a chance of playing," Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores told a news conference on Friday.

"We have to take a long view and hope that we will see the best of the player again next season."

The 24-year-old, who has 38 caps, damaged the ligaments in his right ankle in a league match against Osasuna in January.

On Friday, Vicente was left out of Luis Aragones's 27-man squad for a pre-World Cup get-together on May 8.

With just over a week left before Aragones names his 23 man squad for Germany Vicente's chances of making the World Cup now appear slim.
