Del Horno to Valencia

Chelsea have agreed to sell defender Asier Del Horno to Valencia, the English champions said on Friday. The Spanish international is currently in the southern city to negotiate personal terms.

Del Horno joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in June 2005 and made 32 appearances for the club last season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has decided to trim his squad for the forthcoming season with Icelandic midfielder Eidur Gudjohnsen already departed for Barcelona.

Del Horno, 25, joined Chelsea on a three-year contract from Athletic Bilbao in June 2005 for &euro12m. He made 32 appearances for the club but largely failed to live up to expectations.
