Hello and welcome to Eurosport UK's live minute-by-minute coverage of bottom placed Sporting Gijon vs Racing Santander, who lie a lowly 18th place after four games in La Liga.

That was a game high on effort, but low on quality. Sporting had the better of it, but in truth neither team created enough to deserve to win.

Pablo catches the ball easily and commences the last break of the match. Trejo crosses it in, Barral gets across the defender at the near post, but heads it well over. That's it and Sporting get their first point of the season.

Diop breaks through the middle. He plays it to his left to Munitis, and his shot is saved at the expense of a corner by Pablo.

Arana is carded for a professional foul.

Three minutes added time and the Sporting fans are leaving. Poor clearance gives it to Diop, who hits a rasping drive that flies straight into Pablo's arms.

Christian hauls down Trejo, who has been very impressive tonight. It's 25 yards out on the right....Sangoy with a pretty poor effort - it flies six yards over the bar.

De las Cuevas plays down the line for Canella, but his low centre is cut out.

Trejo rescues a ball by the touchline and nudges to Lora, whose cross is cut out. Pablo receives the ball and plays the winding down time trick of waiting until he's approached before picking up the ball. They're obviously happy with the draw.

De las Cuevas jinks into the area, but he doesn't have enough options. He again gets the ball, but it's a poor attempt at a pass.

Arana can't get a shot off from the edge of the area. Trejo gains possession, but his pass is misplaced and Racing come stright back.

Barral canters up the wing. He challenges Francis who goes down as if shot, but Sporting have the foul. The freekick is terrible.

Munitis is caught in the build up to that move and he ambles off the pitch in a huff. Racing have already made three subs so he'll have to play on...

Diop plays the ball to Arana, he has a little bit of space and his right foot shot flies off the defender's shin and Pablo pulls off a fantastic save, plunging to his left to palm it over the bar.

Sangoy has an effort that at first glance looks like it's flown into the back of the net, but in fact came back off the advertising hoardings and behind the goal. It wasn't even close in actual fact.

Seranno crosses towards Stuani, but it's too close to Pablo, who throws out quickly to get the counter underway.

De las Cuevas is in the thick of it again, but his shot just outside the area is dragged well wide.

Ariel is replaced by Oscar Serrano.

Trejo crosses it in and De las Cuevas charges in at the back post, but his jump lacks commitment and he heads wide.

Sporting Sub: Gastón Sangoy replaces Ayoze.

It's all Sporting now. De las Cuevas loses his footing but he still manages to get the shot in on target. It bounces ot he base of the near post with Tono completely beaten!
