REAL MADRID LATE LATE SHOW RESCUES THREE POINTS
Real Madrid rescued a 3-2 win over La Liga basement dwellers Almeria thanks to a Jude Bellingham penalty and a 99th minute Dani Carvajal winner in a game was overshadowed by huge VAR controversy.
Almeria are still looking for their first win of the La Liga season but looked set to break that drought when they went 2-0 up in a shocking first-half where the visitors looked the more clinical side against a ponderous Real Madrid.
However, three marginal VAR decisions went the way of Los Blancos in the space of twelve minutes to turn the game on its head and Almeria boss Gaizka Gaitano was red carded late after remonstrating with the referee about his side’s misfortune.
Almeria gave Real Madrid a massive helping hand last week holding La Liga contenders Girona to a goalless draw but looked set to return the favour thanks to Largie Ramazani’s opener just 38 seconds in a wonder goal by Edgar Gonzalez before halftime.
However, Carvajal’s header means Los Blancos return to the top of the table with Girona facing Sevilla tonight and looking to overcome the two-point deficit, though Real Madrid will still hold a game in hand after this weekend.

FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 3-2 ALMERIA
What. A. Game. It had everything, stunning goals, a brilliant underdog, a dramatic fightback and heaps upon heaps of controversy. But ultimately it's Real Madrid who return to the top of the La Liga table at least until Girona face Sevilla tonight, while Almeria still await their first win of the season.

GOAL! REAL MADRID 3-2 ALMERIA (CARVAJAL)
It's the winner! It was a brilliant cross and Bellingham headed it back across the face of goal, for Dani Carvajal to prod home from point-blank range! Cue pandemonium in the Bernabeu!!!

RED CARD!
Gaizka Gaitano has been sent to the stands! The home players surrounded Lopy on the floor accusing him of timewasting and when Gaitano fired back he was given a second yellow card. His post-game press conference will be tasty...

WELL WIDE
It fell to Tchouameni on the edge of the box - cue England flashbacks - but this time his shot is well off target and the Camavinga fouls Lopy to end the attack. Lopy's staying down too...

WHAT'S LEFT?
That Almeria corner bounced out harmlessly, and now Real Madrid get their go. Vinicius has the ball on the edge of the area...

LOTS OF STOPPAGE TIME
There's 11 minutes of stoppage time shown, will there be one more twist or turn? Almeria have the first chance with a corner...

LAST CHANGE
The away captain looked injured in the first half but has survived up until now, with Gonzalo Melero taking his place. Real Madrid took issue with the captain's armband change too but after the way this second half has gone, they've no right to complain about anything.

THE BELLINGHAM SHOW
He's nearly scored twice just moments apart! The first chance was the best though, an acrobatic overhead kick that flashed just wide.

INTERESTING CHANGE
With Luka Modric still on the bench, it's somewhat of a surprise that the more defensive Camavinga replaces Kroos.

PENALTY?
Surely not, but with this game nothing would be a surprise any more. Brahim Diaz went down under the softest of challenges from Kaiky and the ball fell to Vinicius a few yards out but he inexplicably couldn't finish, so Almeria survive. Luckily VAR's stayed quiet on this one.

GOAL DISALLOWED!
Jude Bellingham has the ball in the net again with a wonderstrike from the edge of the box! Fran Garcia has really changed the game for Real Madrid and scorched forward to reach a long ball, pulling it back to Bellingham to pull the trigger.
However, the flag is up for Garcia so it stays at 2-2.

NO BREAKS
If Almeria didn't have bad luck they'd have no luck at all. Pozo got to a 50-50 ball first against Jude Bellingham and both players came off hurt from the clash, with the visitor writhing around in pain after the Brit appeared to catch him in the groin. So he doesn't look best pleased to find a card waved in his face.
