When one diehard supporter was the first of the summer to urge his club to "hurry up and sign someone", he never imagined this would happen.

The era of social media is fantastic for so many reasons, but one thing anyone who has or works for a high-profile account on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram or anything like that dreads the most is how open it leaves you to criticism and sometimes even abuse.
Some celebrities, athletes, teams and events opt to ignore the negativity and focus on the positive input from their fans. Others, like footballer-turned-boxer Curtis Woodhouse, hunt their tormentors down until they apologise on national television - read about that here.
English club Doncaster Rovers, meanwhile, took a negative tweet from a frustrated supporter and turned it into an incredible positive.
Indeed, when the club were ready to finalise their first deal of the window, to bring goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann in from Preston North End, they had that same fan help unveil him.
In addition to meeting Stuckmann, manager Paul Dickov and other club staff at the ground, Lee Miller was given the honour of being the very first person to make the news public.
Stuckmann made 18 appearances for Preston in a League One campaign which ultimately concluded with the Lilywhites winning promotion back to the second tier via the play-offs.
In an interview with Miller - another perk for the fan - Dickov expressed his pleasure at the recruitment:
His mentality is fantastic, he fits all the criteria and has just been promoted out of the division [with Preston North End] so I’m delighted.
As for Miller, he has promised not to moan as much when the season kicks off in August!
