Eurosport had earlier reported the deal after being tipped off by an informed source, and both clubs acted swiftly to confirm the rumour.
"We only have to settle a few details," Monaco boss Jean-Luc Ettori told reporters after a training session.
The reports were confirmed by the AC Milan club website which said,
"The player will be in Monaco tomorrow morning to take the physical tests and he will then sign the contract with the new club".
Vieri signed for Milan over the summer from city rivals Inter, but has failed to impress since his move, rarely getting the chance to display his talents in the starting line-up.
Alberto Gilardino, Andriy Shevchenko, Kaka and Filippo Inzaghi all seem to be above the 32-year-old in the pecking order at the San Siro, and a move to the principality would offer him an opportunity to prolong his career.
