Over at the Etihad Stadium, Joey Barton is down after a collision with Gareth 'Teacher's Pet' Barry. Looked accidental, but Barton is milking it.

Giggs stands the corner up for the arriving Jones, who flies in and heads over! Mignolet was nowhere and that goes down as a chance for United.

Giggs clips the ball into the box and, under little pressure, Bramble heads behind for a corner.

Campbell dispossesses Young down the United left and hoofs a long ball away.

Lots of possession for United, whose away fans are in defiant voice.

More goals at the Emirates, and the battle for 3rd/4th/5th is looking very interesting. Also a goal at Stoke - which could have an indirect effect on the title race. They are one up against Bolton.

It has been a largely positive start for United, though they have not seriously tested Simon Mignolet in the Sunderland goal.
