QPR boss Mark Hughes will consider allowing goalkeeper Robert Green to leave in January if he is unhappy about his lack of first-team football. Hughes surprised many when he pulled off the signing of Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar from Inter Milan this week. The 32-year-old will now become first choice at Loftus Road, relegating Green after unconvincing displays in his first two games for the club. But he gets a chance to impress today.

New signing Esteban Granero makes his QPR debut after his arrival from Real Madrid on Thursday. Samba Diake is out due to personal reasons so Ale Faurlin makes his first appearance of the season.

City are still without striker Sergio Aguero and midfielder Gareth Barry. Aguero (knee) is likely to be out until mid-September while Barry (abdominal) might still be three or four weeks away from a return despite a recent reserves outing. England right-back Micah Richards (ankle) also remains on the sidelines.

Manchester City had a busy transfer deadline day as Javi Garcia, Maicon, Scott Sinclair, Richard Wright and Matija Nastasic joined the Barclays Premier League champions. Only Sinclair is involved, he is on the bench.
