23'
Taylor spots Nolan inside the box and curls a pass into the midfielder, who twists sharply and sees a goalbound shot blocked. Mark Noble follows up but fails to hit the target.
22'
Fletcher is arriving at the back post to head home from a Larsson cross but this time Collins does his job and heads away.
21'
Taylor drifts into a central area but when Cole tries to find him with a pass it has far too much on it and flies well out of the reach of the midfielder.
20'
Oof. It is starting to get a bit tasty now. There are tackles flying in around Upton Park with Cattermole crunching into Diame and Fletcher then getting a little nibble from behind.
18'
Stat from Opta: "Martin O’Neill has seen his teams enjoy just one win at Upton Park in the Premier League (Aston Villa December 2008) (W1 D2 L5)."
17'
Rather embarrassing from Bramble. As he clears the ball, Nolan slides in but doesn't make any contact. Still, the defender leaps into the air and throws himself to ground dramatically. Nolan unimpressed.
16'
Cole ambles back on the pitch. Hopefully his head doesn't hurt too much as it will be used quite a lot today by the looks of things.
15'
Ouch. Cole gets a nasty one in the side of the head from Mignolet as the Sunderland keeper punches clear. The striker needs treatment and looks a bit groggy.
13'
Stat from Opta: "All eight of the goals netted by Sunderland and West Ham in the Premier League this season have been scored in the first half of games."
12'
The ball comes back into the box following the second corner but Collins can't get the necessary connection to trouble Mignolet.
11'
West Ham look to respond through a corner but Reid can't quite get on the end of Nolan's delivery. Sunderland's clearance is poor though and the Hammers win another corner when a cross is headed behind.
10'
West Ham gave the ball away when James Collins produced a horrible pass that hit team-mate Mohamed Diame and deflected into the path of Larsson on the right. An awful piece of defending.

GOAL! West Ham 1-0 Sunderland! It's a fourth goal in four shots on target for Fletcher since signing for the club! He controls a gorgeous pass over the top from Larsson, brings the ball down and finishes across Jaaskelainen.
8'
It's been a pretty low-key start so far at Upton Park. West Ham are looking to go long to Cole with regularity, but his hold-up play has been a bit mixed so far.
6'
Stat from Opta: "West Ham have conceded more fouls than any other team in the top flight this seasons (62)."
5'
Titus Bramble thumps into Nolan with a firm tackle. Nice and feisty.
4'
Craig Gardner bombs forward from right-back and plays in Colback. The midfielder tries to make headway in the box but Winston Reid deals with him well.
3'
Seb Larsson is playing right for Sunderland today with Johnson absent. Colback sits alongside Cattermole, though he will push forward more than his tenacious team-mate.
2'
Simon Mignolet is into action early on as he races off his line to boot the ball clear after Guy Demel puts a high ball over the top of the visiting defence.
