Middlesbrough have confirmed the departure of manager Aitor Karanka following a run of ten Premier League games without a win.

Boro have spiraled down the table of late and find themselves 19th having last won a league game on December 17.
Karanka, who took charge of the club in 2013, earned promotion to England's top-tier last season following a second-placed finish in the Championship.
However, after a promising start to the campaign, Boro's form has severely dipped in 2017, while their tally of 19 goals in 27 games is the worst in the league.
In contrast, Boro boast the joint-fifth best defence having conceded only 30 goals, but it's a lack of firepower up front which has ultimately cost Karanka.
The outgoing boss said: "I'd like to thank Middlesbrough for a wonderful opportunity and the players, staff and all the people at the club who I have worked with. I'd also like to thank the fans for their support.
"This club will always hold a special place for me and I wish everyone connected with Middlesbrough Football Club the very best for the future."
While Boro search for a new manager, Steve Agnew will step up from his role as assistant head coach to take control of the first team.
