FIESTY FULHAM UPSET THE ODDS TO DOWN IN-FORM UNITED
A dramatic 97th-minute winner from Alex Iwobi ended Manchester United’s unbeaten run in 2024 as a feisty Fulham rescued a much-deserved win that looked to have gone up in smoke with just a few minutes to go.
Harry Maguire’s poacher’s finish with a minute to go in normal time appeared to have saved the Red Devils after they were second-best for much of the game against the Londoners.
But after taking a deserved lead with 25 minutes to go when Calvin Bassey powered home a loose ball from a corner, Iwobi gave the Cottagers a famous win when he latched onto Adama Traore’s perfectly weighted pass and coolly fired past Andre Onana.
Maguire had missed a header moments before his equaliser, which looked like it’d be enough to preserve United’s unbeaten streak, but that would’ve been a stolen point as Fulham were in the ascendency for much of the second half.
Erik ten Hag’s side missed Rasmus Hojlund - who’ll also be out for the Manchester derby next week - while Marco Silva’s gamble paid off as he made six changes to his starting team.

FULL-TIME! MANCHESTER UNITED 1-2 FULHAM
And Fulham do it! Manchester United weren't at the races all day but Maguire looked to have rescued them at the death - instead it's Iwobi who grabs all the headlines with a remarkable late goal for just their second win of the year!

GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 1-2 FULHAM (IWOBI)
WOW WOW WOW!!! Alex Iwobi has been the star player today and he finally makes it count, Traore ran the length of the field with the ball before feeding Iwobi who lashed it home and left Onana rooted to the middle of the goal! That's surely game over?

BIG FULHAM CHANCE
That could've been it for Muniz! It was wonderfully worked by Castagne but he couldn't turn the cross goalwards, now United will go again.

A LONG NINE MINUTES
It's a shooting gallery now, Lindelof, Rashford and Eriksen all had a go but Fulham survive for now.

GOAL STANDS!
Maguire was clearly onside, though Leno disagreed and picks up a booking. And it will be a huge nine minutes of injury time!

GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 FULHAM (MAGUIRE)
Leno spilled a long-range shot and it dropped straight to Maguire, who produced a poacher's finish to fire it home! It's his first of the season, but VAR are checking.

LAST CHANCE SALOON
We should be due a healthy slice of added time thanks to a couple of injury stoppages, but Manchester United aren't really going close right now.

THIRD CHANGE
It's another roll of the dice from Ten Hag, as Armad Diallo enters the fray.

COULD'VE ENDED IT
Harry Wilson did superbly to feed Muniz on the counter and he had a man free, but shot himself and pushed it just wide. Then Maguire had a golden opportunity from the corner but sends his header just over the bar from close range.

TRAORE ON
Harrison Reed has sat down again, and this time looks like his afternoon is over. A cut broke out on his forehead which may be a late effect of the clash of heads earlier, Traore's pace will cause Ten Hag's side further problems on the break though.

AWOKEN A SLEEPING GIANT
Fulham's next chant was less family-friendly, but they need to keep their sprits up - it's been all United since the goal. They've not forced a big save from Leno though... Yet.

'YOU'RE NOT SINGING ANY MORE!'
Safe to say the Fulham fans are enjoying themselves... But United will have a chance to respond in front of the Stretford End as Garnacho wins a corner...

FIRST FULHAM CHANGE
Tom Cairney was one of the six players to lose their place in the starting XI from last week's defeat, he'll get 20 minutes here to see home a famous victory though.

GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 0-1 FULHAM (BASSEY)
You can't say it's not deserved!!! Bassey took the corner on the volley but scuffed it into Castagne, fortunately the ball rolled back to him and he made no mistake the second time, lashing it into the roof of the net giving Onana no chance! Can that spark United back into life?

THE WHISTLES ARRIVE
The crowd are really starting to get frustrated as another United attack bounces harmlessly through to Leno and Fulham get straight up the other end to win a corner.

ALL FULHAM
It's worth noting that Manchester United haven't fired a shot yet this half - it's been a carbon copy of the first 15 minutes of the game.

ANOTHER CHANCE GOES BEGGING
It's starting to look like one of those games for Fulham. They're breaking forward well but just can't strike the killer blow - Pereira is the latest culprit missing out on a square-ball in the six-yard box.

REED CONTINUES
Harrison Reed is ok after that clash of heads, he plays on against United's new-look midfield.
