Pato creates space for himself on the right-hand side of the penalty area but Constant and El Shaarawy are just unable to get onto his low square ball. Would have been 1-0 if they had.

Constant gets involved early, moving down the left before pinging a centre to the feet of Pato, who turns but goes to ground. Referee tells him to get up.

We are finally going to resume play as Bertolacci slowly returns to his feet but first the Milan sub...

Bertolacci is fouled by Yepes, and despite initially trying to play on Milan put the ball out to jeers.

Pato almost bursts ahead of the back line but uses a little too much force trying to hold them off.

Antonini has a nasty gash on his leg and he may well be withdrawn here.

Corner nonetheless for Milan and the failed clearance falls for El Shaarawy! Crosses low but two red and black shirts are unable to connect by inches!

Pato bombs forward on the break down the right but fails to look up and spot the obvious ball to an unmarked El Shaarawy in the area.

Bertolacci goes into the book for a foul on El Shaarawy.

Mostly Milan thus far but they've not been able to make good on their superior possession and chances. How many times have we heard that about them this season?

Milan with a free-kick from the right which they're pretty annoyed wasn't given as advantage. Nonetheless, Emanuelson has his cross attempt after the restart closed down and cleared.

Clever corner is played low to the nearby corner of the box where de Jong gets onto it and has an on target strike blocked! A few half-hearted shouts for handball but play continues.

El Shaarawy has a shot deflected behind for a corner by Bovo after a dazzling run into the final third.

Corner taken short by Emanuelson and Antonini crosses for Yepes to head over.
