Inter are playing a very high line to force all the play in the Novara half. The visitors are playing very deep, and the home side are finding it difficult to break them down.

Milito is a fraction offside after being played through on goal. If he'd held his run just a little more, that would have been a great opportunity to go a goal up.

Inter clearly see Jeda as the main threat for Novara. Being marked by two men most of the time.

Inter back on top of the game now after a decent spell from Novara.

Inter's best opportunities this half have come through Sneijder.

Shot from Sneijder from just inside the Novara box, takes a few deflections but Ujkani gets down low to save.

Milito gets away from his man and plays the ball into Alvarez who crosses for Poli. The young Italian goes down in the box. Seen those penalties given, but was more of a strong challenge by the Novara defender.

Sneijder does his the free kick and it's on course for goal but hits the Novara wall.

Chivu crosses from midway inside the Novara half but the ball is claimed by Ujkani.

Opportunity wasted by Inter. Cambiasso is played into the box and the ball eventually comes to Stankovic in a decent shooting position after being set up by Milito. He misses the ball completely and the ball is cleared by Novara.

Inter trying to slow things down a little now and are pinging the ball around in the centre circle.

Another speculative effort from Inter, this time from Stankovic. He fires the ball high and wide from 30 yards.

After Inter dominated the early stages, Novara have very much come into this now. Serie A's bottom side look dangerous, and Inter need to make more of their opportunities.

Caracciolo is played through on goal and gets a toe on the ball to poke it past Julio Cesar but there's just too much on it and it's put out for a corner. Too much pushing and shoving in the box and it's a free kick to Inter in their own penalty area.

Free kick taken by Gemiti just outside the penalty area on the left side of the pitch. He lays it off to Jeda who squares it to Porcari, but he loses the ball. Porcari, in his attempts to win back the ball, commits a foul and gets a yellow card.

Caracciollo with several attempts to win a penalty. He twists and turns and gets the better of Lucio but goes down easily. He looked in a great position to pull the trigger but went down instead.

Jeda again looking dangerous for Novara as he gets into the box and wins a corner for his side. He plays it in and the ball is eventually cleared by Stankovic.

So close from Sneijder! It's lovely ball from Milito to Sneijder who bursts into the box and pulls his shot across goal, just going wide of the far upright.

Inter look to counter attack but Chivu overruns the ball.

Nice little spell this from Novara, Jeda attacks down the left and gets the better of Cordoba. The ball comes to Rigoni who hits the shot which goes out for a corner. It's easily cleared away.
