The former Serbia international, 33, recently underwent an Achilles operation after an injury-hit season that saw him feature in only 19 Serie A matches.
But he has rejected speculation that he was set to move to the United States, insisting he would be fit for pre-season training in July.
"I’ve read that I’m apparently thinking of a move to America, but there is no truth in it," he told Sportska Centrala in his homeland.
"My Inter contract lasts another two years and I’m definitely staying. I’ve spoken to boss Andrea Stramaccioni and we are on the same wavelength."
Stankovic joined Inter from Lazio in 2004 and has made 317 appearances in all competitions, scoring 41 goals.
