WHERE IS THE GAME?
Palace will, I think, be looking to get Eze and Franca on the ball, so they can run at the Everton defence and slip passes down the sides of the centre-backs for Mateta attacking space in behind. Everton, meanwhile, will look to win the physical battle in midfield and have their wide players stick balls into the box for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

THIS WEATHER, MAN
This time yesterday I was in Accra, and now look.
19:35
DYCHE GROWLS
He made changes to keep things fresh and expects his team to run hard and play well. Danjuma has trained well, he says, and also thinks the pitch is in decent nick despite the inclement weather.

AS FOR EVERTON
They were rattled 3-0 at Wolves last time out and Sean Dyche changes from 5-4-1 to 4-2-3-1, Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson replaced by João Virgínia, Seamus Coleman and Arnaud Danjuma.
19:28
AND THEY DO, OF COURSE
Also have Eberechi Eze, another gorgeous player. It's also worth noting that Roy Hodgson has been raving about Franca, his summer signing, who he says is now ready for English football, so I'm looking forward to checking him out tonight.

PALACE GO STRONG
Michael Olise is injured - again - which is a shame for him and for us, because what a beautiful footballer he is, His spot goes to Matheus Franca, while Jeff Schlupp is in for Jordan Ayew, who's gone to Afcon.

RIGHTO
I'm going to write those teams down, then we'll have a little think about what they mean.

HELLO AND WELCOME
We hear a lot about the demise of the world's oldest Cup competition, but make no mistake, it's still a brilliant part of the season and this weekend a big chunk of the reason why. Loads of games, contests we never usually see, and different contexts to ones we do – if the managers are prepared to respect the occasion.
Palace are one of the sides who should be taking this proper seriously, far too good to go down, and not quite good enough to contest the European spots through the league, but capable of beating anyone in a one-off. Given a fair wind, they can do something here.
Everton, meanwhile, know that there are teams far worse than them even with a 10-point deduction, so they should also stay up with ease. As such, they've a duty to their fans to attack this match and they're in decent form too, so all things being equal, tonight should be a lot of fun. Kick-off: 8pm GMT
