Another decent stop from Tickle, called into action for the first time this half. He gets down low to keep out Mainoo’s effort from distance.

Humphrys was only just back from a hip injury for Wigan but he’s off down the tunnel shaking his head and replaced by Magennis.

Varane goes down holding his face and replays show he was caught by Aasgaard, who may be a little lucky there’s no VAR tonight.

A malicious elbow? It’s hard to say, but he caught Varane for sure with his arm.

Wigan are still in this… Evans switches off after a throw-in and Wigan attack down the right, but Aasgaard’s cross is too strong for Godo to control.

Moments later, Godo sends in a dangerous cross himself but it bounces out for a goal kick.

United patient this half but turn it on in a flash there. A fine move sees Fernandes dummy the ball and then receive it from Hojlund before his shot is eventually blocked.

You got a sense Fernandes could have played it back to Hojlund again there, but the United skipper opted to go it alone.

United will surely have more chances soon but they’ve just started the half getting back into the groove, passing it around and making Wigan chase the ball – and the game.

Back under way, and Wigan are still in this. They have to, and surely will, remember that.
