Harry Kane looks set for an emotional return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium less than 12 months after leaving the club for Bayern Munich. Kane was a talismanic figure for Spurs, scoring 213 goals in 320 Premier League appearances, leaving the 30-year-old second in the division's all-time top goalscorers list behind Alan Shearer. He returns to the club where it all began.

Kane suggests critical ex-player pundits could take a 'step back'

Harry Kane’s return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, August 10, with Bayern Munich, will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
The pre-season clash for the Visit Malta Cup between Tottenham and the German giants (kick-off 5.30pm) will also see former Spurs centre back Eric Dier make his return to the club where he spent nine-and-a-half seasons.
Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will also be facing his former team, after spending four years at Bayern before joining Southampton in July 2016.
The fixture will be the last match for Spurs before their Premier League season begins the following Monday, August 19, against newly-promoted Leicester City.
It will be the second fixture against Bayern in as many weeks, with the two sides set to face each other as part of Tottenham’s Far East tour on Saturday, August 3.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have a busy pre-season schedule which begins at Tynecastle on Wednesday, July 17, against Scottish Premier League side Hearts, before taking on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road three days later.
The club then embarks on a tour to the Far East, playing a match each in Japan and South Korea.
First up is a friendly against Vissel Kobe on Saturday, July 27, in Tokyo, ahead of a game against a Team K League team in Seoul on Wednesday, July 31.
There will then be the first of two summer meetings with Bayern, as Spurs play at the Seoul World Cup stadium once again to face the Bavarians.
These games serve as valuable preparation for Postecoglou’s men, who will be aiming to break back into the UEFA Champions League places in the new campaign.
Spurs were involved in a keenly-contested top-four battle with Aston Villa for much of last season, but ultimately had to settle for fifth place and a spot in next season’s Europa League.
TNT Sports’ coverage of the 2024-25 Premier League season starts on Saturday, August 17, when new boys Ipswich Town entertain Liverpool at Portman Road at 12:30pm.

discovery+ is the streaming home of the Olympic Games, and the only place you can watch every moment of Paris 2024 this summer.
