Harvey Barnes described Newcastle United as "an attacker's dream" after sealing a move to The Magpies from Leicester City. The winger was The Foxes' top scorer last season with 13 goals but couldn't stop them from going down, and now he's set to star in the UEFA Champions League for his new club. Eddie Howe says Barnes will "add a different element" to his side's forward line for the new season.

Guardiola brushes off GOAT talk - 'I live with incredible doubts'

Newcastle United have signed winger Harvey Barnes from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old has penned a contract to 2028 with the St James’ Park side as they continue to strengthen ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
Although Newcastle did not reveal the transfer fee, it was reported to be around £39 million.
"I'm delighted," Barnes said. "It's an amazing club and for me it's a massive opportunity to come and be involved in a successful team that's doing exciting things, so I'm absolutely buzzing to be here.
"I think it's an attacker's dream to come into a team like this; it's high-paced, it's physically demanding, but you can see the rewards of that with the chances and the goals scored, so I think I'll certainly suit the style."
It is the first permanent move of Barnes’ career; he came through the youth system at Leicester and had loan spells at MK Dons, Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion before becoming a first-team regular in 2018/19.
Barnes scored 13 goals for The Foxes last season to finish as their top scorer, but it wasn’t enough to stop them from suffering relegation to the Championship.
The winger won the FA Cup and earned an England cap during his time at the King Power Stadium.
He becomes Newcastle’s third summer signing following the arrivals of midfielder Sandro Tonali from AC Milan and teenage forward Yankuba Minteh from Odense, who will spend next season on loan at Feyenoord.
"Harvey is an exciting talent who I have admired for a long time so I'm delighted to welcome him to Newcastle United,” said Magpie manager Eddie Howe.
"He is strong, quick and very good technically, and he showed last season in particular that he has an eye for goal from wide positions.
"He will add a different element to our play and we look forward to working with him as we prepare for the season ahead."
Howe steered Newcastle to a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League last season, earning the club their first crack at the Champions League for 21 years.
