Real Madrid have reactivated their interest in Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, while Stefan Ortega will stay at Manchester City amid rumours of interest from the Saudi Pro League sides in goalkeeper Ederson. Elsewhere, Newcastle have made a bid for Burnley stopper James Trafford, and Manchester United hope to sign Joao Neves from Benfica despite a new obstacle put up by Bernardo Silva.

Real REMAIN KEEN ON Bayern's Davies

Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is wanted by Real Madrid as he is yet to commit his future to the Bundesliga club.
The 23-year-old is in talks for a potential extension to his deal in Germany, but Real had already agreed terms with him.
The Athletic reports: “The 23-year-old has a huge decision to make in the coming weeks (or months). After six years in Germany with Bayern Munich, his current contract expires in 2025 and his club will not want to run the risk of allowing him to leave for free. Real Madrid are lurking ominously.
“Davies has been admired by Real Madrid for some time and in February the possibility of a move to Spain looked likely when talks were held between the club and Davies’ representatives.
“Davies did not only have his heart set on Madrid. Relations with Bayern have remained professional and talks over whether he will stay have continued during recent months, including in the week of the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Madrid.
“Sources, who spoke to The Athletic on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, indicated those talks with Bayern were progressing well and the German club were hopeful of agreeing new terms to keep Davies in Munich, especially with Madrid having gone quiet.
"In the aftermath of them winning the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, Real have reignited their interest in Davies."

Ederson rumours persist at City

The departure of Ederson to the Saudi Pro League continues to be rumoured, with the Brazilian a big-money target.
With that in mind, Manchester City may have acted to make sure they keep hold of Stefan Ortega, who wants to replace him.
The Independent writes: "Stefan Ortega has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester City to keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2026 and has suggested he could agree a further deal after that.
“Ederson has been tipped as a target for the Saudi Pro-League but has not asked to leave and City have received no offers for him but Ortega has ambitions of taking his place.”

Newcastle make Trafford bid

Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Newcastle are all keen on Burnley’s James Trafford, reports the Daily Mail.
The paper states that the latter have made a £16 million offer for the player as they look to reinforce.
The report begins: “Newcastle have made a move for Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford with an offer in the region of £16 million.
“Mail Sport understands talks have taken place between the clubs this week with a package presented by The Magpies. Discussions are ongoing and the Championship side are pushing for closer to £20m.
“Trafford, along with six others, suffered the bitter disappointment of being cut from England’s Euro 2024 squad this week. However, that frees him to sort out his club future and he is aware of Newcastle’s interest. Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also tracked the 21-year-old.
“Eddie Howe is a big admirer of the former Manchester City prospect and Newcastle see him as competition for No. 1 Nick Pope.”

Silva looks to hijack Neves deal for City

Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva hopes to convince Benfica midfielder Joao Neves to join him at the Etihad.
The Sun reports that Manchester United have been keen on the teenager for some time, despite his huge release clause.
The paper explains: “Manchester United could have their deal for Joao Neves hijacked by a neighbour in blue from down the road.
“Man City star Bernardo Silva has claimed he is trying to convince the 19-year-old to join the Premier League champions instead of United.
“Man Utd have been long linked with Neves who is some of the hottest property in European football.
“Benfica are protected by a £103 million release clause for the defensive midfielder, but that hasn't deterred some of the Premier League's biggest clubs from sniffing around.”
