Chelsea are interested in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak despite the huge asking price for the Swedish forward, while they are also keen on signing Lille's Jonathan David this summer. Elsewhere, Manchester United could land a bargain if they try to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich will have to pay up if they want to land Amadou Onana from Everton.

Southgate 'won't back away' from England fans' criticism

Chelsea make contact for Isak

Chelsea will have to pay more than £115 million if they want to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail reports that talks have begun between the two Premier League sides, with no fee agreed yet.
The paper writes: “Chelsea have made an enquiry for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Mail Sport understands conversations have taken place between the clubs and the Blues have indicated a want to sign the Sweden international.
“They know that any deal would take a club-record fee beyond the £115m they paid for Moises Caicedo.
“Isak scored 25 goals last season and is one of the hottest properties in Europe. His market value is at least double the £63m Newcastle paid Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022. “

United may get Ugarte on the cheap

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to take a loss to sell midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer.
The Mirror suggests that while they paid £51m for him last summer, they will accept less than that to move him on.
The paper explains: “Manchester United will be offered a discount for PSG star Manuel Ugarte this summer.
“The Red Devils have identified the Uruguayan midfielder as a prime target. Reports have suggested that Man United have already lodged a bid for Ugarte’s signature.
“PSG turned down their initial offer but are open to selling the former Sporting Lisbon should the Red Devils up their bid. And it has now been revealed how much they would accept.
“PSG will sell as long as they recoup the majority of the fee they spent on him. The French champions signed Ugarte for £51m last summer after activating a release clause in his deal.”

Bayern want to sign Onana

Everton are willing to sell Amadou Onana this summer, if their £50m valuation is met.
With Bayern looking to rebuild under Vincent Kompany, they have turned to the 22-year-old midfielder.
The Sun reports: “Bayern Munich are keen on Everton’s Amadou Onana — but the Toffees want £50 million.
“New boss Vincent Kompany would like to take his compatriot to the Allianz Arena as he looks to put his stamp on the squad.
“Everton are open to selling Belgian midfielder Onana, 22, as they need to raise cash to ensure they meet the Prem’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
“But they are not willing to sell him on the cheap and want a significant profit on the man they bought from Lille for £30m two years ago.”

Chelsea want to add David to Guiu signing

The Evening Standard adds another name to the potential signings at Chelsea this summer.
As well as the expected arrival of Marc Guiu from Barcelona, another forward who is a target is Lille striker Jonathan David.
The paper writes: “Chelsea now expect to complete the £5 million signing of Barcelona’s teenage striker Marc Guiu.
“The Blues are understood to have struck a deal in principle with the 18-year-old forward, with the Stamford Bridge club ready to meet his modest £5 million release clause.
“Guiu has had a new offer on the table from Barcelona, alongside Chelsea’s proposal.
“But now the Spain Under-19s cap is expected to make the west London move.
“Chelsea are still weighing a move for Lille’s Jonathan David, though the Blues will face competition for the Canada striker from a clutch of Premier League rivals.”
