It is O'Dea's first international goal, and the first time Ireland have scored four goals since the play-off win over Estonia in November 2011.

Nielsen produces a strong hand to save from McGeady, after the Ireland winger had cut back on Hansson.

Walters shows great tenacity running across goal but is eventually hustled out of it.

Cox finds Long with a crossfield ball but the West Brom striker overruns it when cutting back towards goal.

McCarthy closes down Benjaminsen and fouls him for good measure.

Baldvinsson steps up from defence and tries an effort from 35 yards that is well over the bar.

Samuelsen gets in behind Coleman to reach Hansson's pass, but the Ireland defender is able to clear.

A disgruntled Keane is replaced by Shane Long.

Elttor takes the free-kick, and puts it straight into the wall.

The final substitution for the Faroes, as Edmunsson is replaced by Elttor.

McCarthy fouls Benjaminsen on the edge of the area.

Ireland making the same mistake in trying to slow the game down from two goals up, allowing the Faroes the chance to get comfortable on the ball.

GOAL: Faroe Islands 1-3 Republic of Ireland. Justinussen puts through his own goal from Walters' cross from the left, under minimal pressure from McGeady.

McGeady cuts back and sets up Cox, but the Nottingham Forest player's effort is blocked and Andrews' follow-up deflects wide for a corner.
