A REMINDER
... that the other play-off semi-final on Path A, between Scotland and Ukraine, has been postponed until June owing to Russia's war against its neighbour. Whoever wins tonight will, in theory, host the play-off final a few days later, though it's unclear whether Ukraine will be able to fulfil their fixtures by then.

AUSTRIA LOOKING TO END LONG WORLD CUP EXILE
While they haven't missed as many tournaments as Wales, Austria have also spent a long time wandering in the World Cup wilderness. They last qualified in 1998, when they went out at the group stage and finished without a win.

WALES HOPING STRONG HOME FORM CONTINUES
Here's a stat which bodes well for tonight's hosts: Wales are unbeaten in their last 16 home games, with their last defeat on Welsh soil coming against Denmark in November 2018.
This is most likely the last chance for Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, the team's dual talismans, to compete at a World Cup, but Rob Page's men need no further motivation. While Wales haven't featured at a World Cup tournament since 1958, this is as good an opportunity as they have had during the modern era.
