Italy midfielder Simone Perrotta is an injury doubt for Thursday's Group E clash with the Czech Republic after picking up an injury in the stalemate against the US on Saturday. The Roma player limped through the fire and brimstone 1-1 draw following a collision with Carlos Bocanegra.

"He suffered a heavy blow to his upper right leg. He may be able to recover but we will have to wait for further tests," said Italy team doctor Enrico Castellacci.
Coach Marcello Lippi could be forced to rejuggle his midfield if Perrotta does not make a full recovery, as Daniele De Rossi is suspended following his red card on Saturday.
Lippi has injury scares elsewhere too, as striker Alberto Gilardino picked up an ankle injury after he opened his goal account against the US, forcing the coaching staff to keep an eye on the Milan player over the coming days.
