Conor McGregor has shared details on the injury that forced him out of his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler. McGregor, who has not fought since 2021, suffered a broken toe on his left foot while training for the Chandler clash. The former double UFC champion took to social media for his latest update as he said the next time he steps into the Octagon has to be "100 per cent Conor McGregor."

Conor McGregor says a "lapse in concentration" was responsible for the injury that ruled him out of his comeback fight against Michael Chandler.
The bout was scheduled to headline the UFC 303 card during UFC International Fight Week and would have been the Irishman's first fight in three years.
The 35-year-old has not stepped foot in the Octagon since breaking his tibia in a stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
McGregor took to social media to reveal details behind the incident.
"We were so f****** super ready for this fight it is absolutely gut-wrenching to take," McGregor wrote.
"We had a lapse in concentration and engaged in a training session without wearing the full protective gear and I hit the toe off the elbow and broke the toe clean. It needs a few weeks that’s it."
McGregor said that he did not want to risk fighting while not at his best.
"I couldn’t justify to my team, or fans, that I make the walk hindered again. That walk has been seen," his post continued.
"This next walk has got to be, and it will be, 100 per cent Conor McGregor. The fans deserve it and we are getting close. A slight lapse in concentration and a nuisance of an injury was picked up.
"That’s it. Take the lesson and move forward. I will get this back. I’ve got to. I’ve got two fights left on my contract. I’m coming to shine. I gotta just take my time.
"I’ll be back. See ya’s soon. See ya at the top. Chandler or not."
A short-notice UFC light heavyweight title rematch between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka will now headline UFC 303, with Brian Ortega v Diego Lopes added as the co-main event, live on TNT Sports.
