UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will put his belt on the line in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
There have been a number of changes to UFC 303, with Conor McGregor withdrawing from his highly-anticipated return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler due to a broken toe, while the co-main event has also seen a complete overhaul.
Pereira (10-2) now headlines the event in a short-notice title defence against light heavyweight No. 1 contender Prochazka (30-4-1), a rematch of their first bout at UFC 295 in November last year.
In that bout, the 36-year-old Brazilian claimed the light heavyweight belt with a TKO victory in the second round.
Pereira is the No. 4-ranked fighter in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings and has three straight victories since moving up from middleweight.
Prochazka will be hoping to get revenge and back up his impressive TKO win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300.
The new co-main event will pit No. 3 featherweight Brian Ortega against rising star Diego Lopes.
Former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was initially scheduled to fight Khalil Rountree in the co-main, but Rountree was removed from the card after he tested positive for a banned substance.
Carlos Ulberg was brought in as Rountree’s replacement, but both Hill and Ulberg were later forced to withdraw with injuries, causing a complete reshuffle of the fight.
Anthony Smith, who stepped in to replace Hill, will now face Roman Dolidze, who took the fight after Ulberg’s injury.
Rounding out the main card will be the only two original fights scheduled for UFC 303, with Mayra Bueno Silva taking on Macy Chiasson at women’s bantamweight, and Ian Machado Garry facing Michael Page at welterweight.
