Britain's Chaz Davies has withdrawn from the Valencia Grand Prix after hurting his hand in a qualifying accident
Davies, 20, crashed his d'Antin Ducati heavily during Friday's opening practice session, hurting his hands and feet as well as tweaking his back.
He rode through the pain barrier 24 hours later, but a similar fall five minutes from the end of qualifying saw him fall on his right hand once more, and this time the damage, a broken metacarpal bone, was such that he was unable to continue in the weekend.
"After Friday's off it was all a bit sore, and in yesterday qualifying I fell on the same hand," Davies told Eurosport. "It's been a bad weekend from start to finish and now I've pulled out."
Davies has also been told that he can miss d'Antin's first winter test, scheduled to take place at Valencia on November 7.
