Francesco Bagnaia won both the sprint and the full-length race at Mugello in the previous round of the season, and he made it a double-double by taking both victories at Assen in the Netherlands. The Italian said that things had been "perfect" for him over the course of the weekend, while his title rival Jorge Martin acknowledged that things were "difficult" at Assen but was satisfied.

Francesco Bagnaia celebrated a “perfect” double victory at Assen after he claimed the win in Sunday’s full-length race.
With Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) leading the championship before the weekend kicked off, the reigning champion cut into the Spaniard’s lead with twin victories in the Netherlands.
The victory followed up another double win in the previous round at Mugello, in Bagnaia's native Italy.
Speaking to TNT Sport after his victory where he barely put a foot wrong, he said: “I enjoyed very much everything from the weekend.
“Everything was perfect. We like to be very fast, very precise, and the weather was fantastic. We had the opportunity to put our best down and the chance was perfect.”

Martin claimed second spot in the race - though he was demoted one spot for exceeding track limits on his final lap - and said he was satisfied with his efforts despite some difficulties over the weekend.
He explained: “It was a difficult Friday, we came through, and we improved a lot yesterday. And then from yesterday we did another big step.
“We were a lot closer to Pecco but in the end I had nothing left. I tried my absolute best to catch him, but I think second is good enough for a tough weekend.
“Two second positions, I’m really happy to do a qualifying in Assen. Let’s try again next season.”
Next week's race takes place on Sunday at the Sachsenring in Germany.
