Jorge Martin is facing an uphill battle to take the MotoGP Championship away from Francesco Bagnaia on the final race of the season in Valencia. The Primac rider did all he possibly could to take the title race to the wire, after winning Saturday's sprint race. Now he must claim a podium finish to stand a chance of winning a first world championship. We go through all the permutations here.

Jorge Martin admits "it will be super difficult" to win the MotoGP Championship, with the title still up for grabs going into the final race of the season in Valencia.
Martin admits that the destiny of a first world title is out of his hands and is still frustrated by a rear tyre issue that he believes cost him a better finish in Qatar last week.
“It will be super difficult to win the championship,” Martin told TNT Sports.
“We never know what could have happened with the tyre in Qatar, but now we have to try our chance to win tomorrow.
“Then it doesn't depend on us, it depends on Pecco so I will try to enjoy the moment and win.”
However, all is not lost for the 25-year-old, who has more than a glimmer of hope to overtake Bagnaia right at the death in a pulsating end to the season.
There is no doubt that Bagnaia has the championship firmly in his sights, and the Ducati rider remains the clear favourite to retain his title on Sunday afternoon.
Bagnaia will seal the championship if he finishes in the top five, regardless of how Martin performs.
However, he also has the back-up of finishing between sixth and 10th and still getting the job done, providing Martin does not win the race.
An 11th to 14th place finish could also be enough, assuming Martin doesn't come higher than third place.
Bagnaia could still win the title by coming 15th or by not scoring another point, if Martin fails to claim a podium position.
Meanwhile, Martin will take a first world championship if he wins the race and Bagnaia comes no higher than sixth, or comes second with Bagnaia only able to muster an 11th-place finish.
The final scenario would see the Primac rider end the race in third, but Bagnaia would have to be placed 15th or lower for Martin to be victorious.
