Jorge Martin took the Moto GP title race to the final day and kept Francesco Bagnaia honest with an excellent sprint race on Saturday, but he wasn't able to complete a miraculous win in the Grand Prix. His cinematic collision with Marc Marquez during Sunday's race confirmed the Italian’s second successive title win. Despite his disappointment, Martin predicts another title tilt in 2024.

Jorge Martin's unlikely championship run fell at the final hurdle on Sunday when he collided with six-time world champion Marc Marquez, consequently sealing Francesco Bagnaia's second consecutive title.
Despite that disappointment, Martin is eyeing another run in 2024.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the completion of the Valencia Grand Prix on Sunday, Martin congratulated Bagnaia but refused to be disappointed with his own results.
He said: "Yeah well for sure congrats to Pecco and I have to be proud of my season. I have to be proud of the results."
Martin had made a late charge up the standings and his sprint race victory on Saturday pushed the championship race to the final day.
The Spaniard then turned his attention to next season.

'More is impossible' - Bagnaia on cloud nine after claiming back-to-back MotoGP titles

With no lack of confidence, he said: "Hopefully we can bring it home next season."
Martin continued, explaining that he sees himself on a path to a world title, sooner or later.
He said: "I think it's just the beginning. We will bring it home next season hopefully. Or maybe the next one. I feel I have the potential to do it. I'm relaxed. It's still my third season in MotoGP. I think we have the potential to win it."
Martin, part of Pramac Racing, would have been the first satellite team rider to win a world championship and after the race, Motorsport reported that he would have been promoted to the factory Ducati seat if he had pulled off the improbable title win.
The Spaniard also claimed that he intends to speak with Marquez about the collision on Sunday. He said: “With Marc, I mean it's nothing I can do. He saw I was on the inside and then he released the brakes.
"I'm not saying it's his fault, but it's not mine [either]. A race situation. So hopefully I will speak with him soon, I feel like I have to and we can solve this problem.”
