Great work from Jones to rectify a mistake - he chases down an errant kick and makes a telling tackle on Beale. But Australia win a penalty shortly after and they heave it deep into the Wales half.

Jones buys a few metres with a dummy before Wales spin left, well into the Australia 22. But no - intercepted again, and Australia clear.

A high ball contest between Shanklin and Beale goes neither's way but it bounces to Wales and they're on the move.

Hook tries to run Wales forward but no joy this time - another Wales scrum to follow.

Time back on with an Australia scrum. McCalman picks up for the Wallabies but the scrum still looked flaky.

Shanklin looks as if he's swept around Giteau, only for Andrew Bishop's pass to be ruled forward.

Gethin Jenkins instrumental in a big Wales turnover on their 22 and Shane Williams boots the ball away with venom. Jenkins has been impressive in the first quarter of the game.

Wales caught napping there by a Quade Cooper chip from his own 22 and Australia make good ground.

Well, that was a poor one - Jones' kick lacks height and is shanked left. A good opportunity to get back to within a point goes to waste.

The Australians are not living with the Welsh at scrum time, and it's another penalty as a superb Wales drive forces the Wallabies up. Jones with a kickable chance.

Everyone fit for the scrum, but Barnes resets this one as Alexander comes under pressure for Australia.

Warburton gets within ten metres of the try line but he's isolated and with two Australians bringing him down he ends up holding on to the ball. Australia have the penalty, the danger looks to have passed.

Wayne Barnes, the English referee for today's game, awards a penalty the way of the hosts as the scrum collapses. That could be something for the Wales side to exploit - Jones kicks for the corner.
