Judd Trump seized on an error-strewn display from Mark Selby to ease into the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix.
Trump has been in a rich vein of form this season, and he has his sights trained on a fourth ranking title of the campaign.
The world No. 2 produced an impressive performance, but he was helped on his way as Selby passed up a number of good chances to get a foothold in the contest.
After securing a 5-1 win, Trump is now two wins away from adding to his English Open, Wuhan Open and Northern Ireland Open successes.
A Trump miscue in the first handed a chance to Selby, but he was only able to make 24 before breaking down.
Trump stepped in with a break of 59 which proved enough to secure the opening frame.
Trump looked sharp in the opening frame and that view was reinforced with the start he made to the second.
A fine long red left him with a tough blue with the rest, but it found the middle of the pocket and he repeated the trick with his next red. He made 48 before breaking down and a lengthy safety exchange followed.
Selby got a huge slice of luck when fluking a snooker in escaping from one, and it looked set to see him take the frame but he missed a simple yellow and Trump mopped up the balls he required to double his lead.
The third frame followed a similar pattern to the previous one, as Trump got in with a superb long red. He made 38 before seeing a blue rattle in the jaws of the green pocket.
Selby had a couple of chances, but saw makeable reds stay above ground and Trump gobbled up the second chance to move three frames to the good.
While Trump’s potting was impressive, so too was his safety and that crafted an opening in the fourth.

‘I have never seen something like that before’ - Trump benefits from remarkable fluked snooker

After forcing an error from Selby, Trump knocked in his first century of the week - and 56th of the season - to lead 4-0 at the interval.
The interval handed Selby a chance to regroup. He was roared on by the Morningside Arena crowd when Trump left a black in the jaws of the bottom right, and he responded with a break of 100 to avoid the whitewash.
It proved to be just a brief stemming of the tide, as Trump pounced on an error in the sixth to make 69 and secure his 10th career win over Selby.
Cao Yupeng will be Judd Trump’s opponent in the semi-finals following his 5-4 win over Mark Williams.
Williams had control of the match at 3-0 and 4-2, but Cao showed tremendous resolve to reel off the final three frames - including a superb break of 74 in the decider.
