Chloe Trespeuch has been made to wait for her snowboard cross crystal globe after Britain's Charlotte Bankes secured victory in Mont-Sainte-Anne on Saturday. The 28-year-old edged French compatriot Trespeuch to seal gold medal in the final, while reducing her overall lead to 85 points at the same time. Trespeuch remained the strong favourite to win the crystal globe.

Bankes makes late charge for Snowboard World Cup victory at Mont-Saint-Anne

Charlotte Bankes ensured Chloe Trespeuch would have to wait until the final race of the season to seal the snowboard cross crystal globe with victory in Mont-Sainte-Anne.
Bankes took gold ahead of Trespeuch in the final, cutting the French star’s lead to 85 points going into Sunday’s finale.
It would take an almighty shock for Trespeuch not to earn her first career crystal globe but Bankes kept the champagne on ice by continuing her strong finish to the season – the Brit now has two golds and a silver in her last four World Cup races.
Trespeuch’s compatriot Lea Casta took bronze in Canada, edging out Australia’s Josie Baff for a place on the podium.
In the men’s race, Eliot Grondin – who secured the crystal globe last weekend – claimed victory on home snow.
Australia’s Cameron Bolton and Czech Radek Houser completed the podium, with Canada’s Evan Bichon in fourth.
