Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen hopes to solve his speed issues in Saturday's third event of the Grand Prix season in Gothenburg.
The Dane was third in New Zealand but exited at the semi-final stage in Bydgoszcz to leave him fifth in the standings.
He said: “I’m missing speed at the moment. I don’t know what’s going on.
"I haven’t really had the speed I want at all and it’s out of our hands.
"We need to speak to the tuners and sort out what’s going on. It’s not only on slick tracks – it’s everywhere.
“We made a lot of adjustments in Bydgoszcz and it wasn’t really doing anything. It was not getting worse and it was not getting better. We just can’t get the bike to keep pulling.
"It’s like someone is holding it on elastic all the time. We did what we could in the pits – we couldn’t do anymore. I raced two bikes and they were the same.
“I can gate on anything – any engines I have I can gate on. I can’t complain about my gating.
"That’s working and it’s the only reason I’m scoring some points. But I have to defend all the time when I’m leading. You can’t survive on gating. It’s never going to last.”
