Andy Murray will soon be back in action as he builds up to his potential final appearance at Wimbledon. The three-time Grand Slam winner recently returned to action following an ankle injury and will now be hitting the grass courts. When is Murray playing next and will he compete in doubles at Wimbledon and play for Great Britain at the 2024 Olympic Games?

'Grass is the priority' - Henman reacts to Evans and Murray losing in doubles

Andy Murray could be playing on grass for the final time over the next six weeks.
Retirement appears to be looming for the three-time grand slam winner, who has said he is unlikely to play beyond the summer.
Murray recently returned to action following an ankle injury and will soon be on grass as he builds up to Wimbledon.
But how will a back injury impact his plans and schedule? And will he play in the Olympic Games?

When is Murray playing next?

Murray was expected to defend his title at the Surbiton Trophy, starting on June 2, but he withdrew from the tournament due to a back issue.
Murray said at the French Open, where he lost in the first round, that he had been struggling with his back and was set to undergo a procedure.
“I really didn’t feel good,” the Scot said. “My back has been a problem the last few weeks for practice and stuff. It has not been great.
“To be honest, I always used to have a procedure on my back the week before the French Open. In my prime, clay always caused issues with my back. I didn’t this year [and] it has not been that comfortable.
“I was moving okay, really not feeling that comfortable on the court. I am hoping when I get home I will have a procedure on my back and have a few days’ rest and then should be fine.”

Instead of Surbiton, Murray’s grass swing will now start in Stuttgart. Murray plays world No. 54 Marcos Giron in his opener in Germany on Tuesday, June 11.
Murray is then signed up to play at Queen’s and Eastbourne, although whether he competes in the latter in the week ahead of Wimbledon might depend on any previous success in Stuttgart and Queen’s.
Wimbledon starts on July 1 and Murray is ranked high enough currently to secure direct entry.
Whether Wimbledon is Murray's last tour stop before retiring remains to be seen. Fellow three-time grand slam winner Stan Wawrinka says he thinks Murray could continue beyond this season.

Will Murray play doubles at Wimbledon?

Murray could enter the singles and doubles at Wimbledon this summer.
He said at the French Open, where he played doubles with Dan Evans, that he is considering playing alongside brother Jamie at Wimbledon. It would be the first time they have played together at the home grand slam.
“My brother doesn’t have a partner for Wimbledon currently. We have spoken a little bit about it,” said Murray.
“So may do that, but not 100% sure yet. Obviously Jamie could also get a good partner as well!”

Will Murray play the Olympics?

Murray has outlined his ambition to play at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games - but only "if there was a chance of winning a medal".
He was not ranked high enough on the cut-off date of June 10 to qualify automatically in singles for Great Britain, but he can use another route to secure a spot.
There are two places in each singles draw for players who have won a grand slam title or an Olympic gold medal, but don’t qualify by direct entry.
These are spots that could be utilised by Murray, along with Rafael Nadal, who could also use his protected ranking to qualify for Spain’s team.
