Thanks for joining us this morning, I'm off, we'll see you again tomorrow for more live coverage of the Australian Open.
Nishikori has played well in this tournament with some really entertaining performances, but, struggling with some injuries it seems, today wasn't his day. After a strong start, his game got a little sloppy and there were a lot of errors. It is (not massively surprisingly) Djokovic who will go through to the semi-finals.

"First of all, Happy Australia Day" says the five time Australian Open champ, he'd like to thank them for coming to watch the tennis on this special day. They like that.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 6-4 Nishikori. That’s it! Nishikori hit’s the deck chasing Djokovic’s ball to the left of the court but he can’t reach it. Novak Djokovic will play Roger Federer in the semi-finals.
Djokovic 6-3 6-2 5-4 Nishikori. A 195 kph serve by Djokovic.gives him the match point, but he lobs it long. A strong rally ends with the wrong side of Djokovic's net, he does not look amused.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 5-4 Nishikori. A smash by Nishikori into the right side of court... How is he coming back from Djokovic's shots? Impressive stuff, but Djokovic will now serve for the match.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 5-3 Nishikori. A two-handed backhand into the net by Nishikori gives Djokovic the game. Just one away from the semi-finals now after two hours on court, he'll have to break Nishikor's serve though.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 4-3 Nishikori. Nishikori hits another ace to come back from Djokovic's break point. Djokovic appears to chew his own shirt in frustration, as one does, right? Error by Nishikori hitting the net, and again, and AGAIN bouncing off it. Djokovic yells in celebration for the first time as he is once again gifted the game by Nishikori's errors.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 2-3 Nishikori. The second successive break to love, Djokovic takes it back. This has turned into a bit of an odd set, and it's hard to tell whether or not Nishikori he's in the midst of a comeback.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 1-3 Nishikori. Djokovic's loose serve has allowed Nishikori to break again. Are we going the same way as Djokovic's fourth round match?
Here's Boris Becker, looking skywards. Perhaps in frustration?

And there is A LOT of strapping going on Nishikori's right thigh, so we guess this is the problem that necessitated the earlier timeout.

Djokovic 6-3 6-2 1-2 Nishikori. Nishikori has come to life but a couple of errors are going to cost him dearly, now. A long ball a net and another net throw the game away from a two point to love lead.
